Ah, this banking talk I don't fully understand, ya. They say your money is safe as a demand deposit, ready when you ask, but then they lend it out like seed for others to plant. For me, it means when too many ask at once, the money is not there in the tree. My own savings for my granddaughter’s books vanished when our cooperative bank, like a rotten branch, fell in the rains. Now I keep my rupees close, in the old tin.
