Arre, for someone earning ₹40,000 in Bengaluru, commuting can easily swallow 15-20% if you're using cabs or autos, but I know better. When I first moved here for my job, I survived on a ₹2,500 monthly bus pass and worn-out shoes walking the last mile—that's just over 6%! Everyone talks about cab fares, but my reality was budgeting for that bus pass and still having enough left for a vada pav on really tough days.
