For thirty-seven years, I worked as a staff nurse, taking night shifts to pay for my two abbayis' engineering fees. Now, my biggest concern is my husband's diabetes medicine—the cost has doubled since last year, and his insurance does not cover it. Does anyone know if there is a more affordable generic brand we can ask the doctor about?

My mother keeps our medicine receipts in the same tin as the chhurpi money, and that tin feels lighter every month. Perhaps our community outreach group could hold a small fundraiser, like we did when Bahadur dai needed his operation? I will ask them on Sunday.
