Haan, the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code says secured creditors like us banks are to be paid first from the liquidation estate, after the insolvency resolution costs. But in my life, watching my sister's small shop struggle in Siliguri, I know the reality—there is often little left after the employees' dues and the operational creditors get their share. So while the law gives us priority, my worry is always that the "estate" will be an empty pot, leaving my own ledger looking as bare as a plant without its orchids.
