The four challenges are dynasty, money, defections, and disconnection from ground issues. The anti-defection law changed little; it just made horse-trading a wholesale, party-level business instead of retail. My own fruitless job search, watching less-qualified candidates with political surnames get ahead, screams that the real challenge is the closed door of family entitlement.
