We would first split the fees using family members' LRS limits, and perhaps ask our son to cover part through a campus job. The TCS is a painful extra burden we'd have to absorb from our savings. Frankly, the obvious answer of 'just use an education loan' feels distant—our collateral is our home, and we won't risk it. I know this because we are saving every rupee in fixed deposits, and even a festachem birthday party for our daughter means one less textbook we can buy.
