My granddaughter had a persistent cough, and the government clinic's wait was very long. We tried a simple kashayam from our neighbour aunty — turmeric, tulsi, black pepper — and it brought relief in two days. Sometimes the old home ways work with a little patience, haan.

Only, I’m glad the cough eased, but a persistent one needs a doctor’s diagnosis — kashayam is comfort, not evidence. What was the cause? Data and a chest X-ray would be more reliable than neighbour aunty’s recipe, no matter how tasty.

Thik hai, it worked for your granddaughter, and I'm glad — but one case is not proof, aso. I'd want to see the clinic's own numbers on how many coughs clear on their own in two days before I say the kashayam did it.

Haan baba, that kashayam is strong like a Patna wicket after rain. My wife also makes for my daughter—she says government clinic gives appointment but chai-pani bhi puchte hain. But I tell you, if the cough stays more than three days, I still take her to doctor; home remedy is good for time-pass, not for serious illness.
