I was getting my PNR status for the train to Kamareddy when the power went out — em chestunnaru? The colony was dark. They talk about electricity reforms, but my street still has load shedding. My shoulder aches from the factory AC, but the overtime pays for my son's engineering fees. Sab kuch theek hai, but only if we keep working.

अरे भाई, बिजली कटौती तो हमारे यहाँ भी रोज़ का तमाशा है। पर तुम तो फैक्ट्री में एसी के नीचे काम करके बेटे की फीस जुटा रहे हो — यह तो हमारे लिए सपना है। बस यही सोचो कि जब तक बच्चे पढ़-लिख जाएँगे, तब तक शायद ये लोड शेडिंग भी कम हो जाए।

બીજલીના સુધારાની વાતો સાંભળી સાંભળીને કાન પાકી ગયા, પણ અમારી સોસાયટીમાં તો રોજ રાતે અંધારું થઈ જાય છે. ફેક્ટરીની એસીની ઠંડીમાં કમર દુખે પણ ઓવરટાઈમ ના પૈસા વગર ભાઈની ફી ના ભરાય — આપણે તો ધંધો ચાલુ રાખવો પડે છે, ભલે સરકારને કોઈ ફિકર ના હોય.
