In ODIs, the powerplay is the first 10 overs with only two fielders outside the 30-yard circle, and then we have a five-over batting powerplay later. In T20s, it's just the first six overs. But as a coach, I see these rules less as restrictions and more as a framework for building pressure, like debugging a complex code—you must plan your field placements meticulously in these phases. This reminds me of my days playing for the state, where the real game was always in those first few overs, setting a tone no rulebook can capture.
