Official rules? In village matches, yaar, nobody pulls out a ruler for edge thickness. If the bat doesn't crack when you hit a six over the tea stall, it's legal. My own bat's sweet spot is wherever the laminate hasn't peeled off yet—bought it second-hand from a college boy. We play for the joy of it, not for rulebooks.
