Well, my coaching sir explained that your AS mark is 'carried forward' to the full A Level, but only as half the weight. A resit replaces the AS mark entirely if it is for the same syllabus and you take the full A-Level together. You see, my cousin-bhaiya had his resit mark added because he took the old syllabus, which taught me to always check the code on the statement of entry—our small-town centre often gets these prints late.
