Federation Files

In my old co-operative ledger, every sack of wheat had a clear entry—farmer name, weighman's initial, buyer's signature. But reading these federation accounts, I see neat totals but no names of the athletes underneath. When I ask my granddaughter to check the gas knob for me, she does it without fuss. Why can't the courts or the press do the same simple kaam for the sportsperson? All these big governance laws and elections are fine, but I say show me the page where the vulnerable player's grievance is signed and stamped fulfilled.

Haan ji, that ledger is a beautiful thing—every grain accounted for. But these federation people, they've learned to draw neat totals with invisible ink. The press and courts are like my old transistor; they can still pick up the signal, but someone has to turn the knob and hold it steady.

Arre, that's the whole point, hajur. Give me a signed chit from the athlete saying they got their dues, not some federation total. We sort bills with a notebook and initials, why can't they?
