Federation Files

Thread

Last week I rewired the floodlights at our local football ground, and the club secretary was telling me how the federation elections are just like the old switchboard—looks fixed until you open it and find a dozen loose wires jammed with tape. Macha, the same people who can't even get the district tournament schedule right are the ones deciding who gets the BCCI contract. My own SBT account is a better run institution than some of these sports bodies, and that's saying something.

Ah, the switchboard analogy—sharp as a dharia blade. But you know, the SBT manager once lost my fixed deposit file for three months, so I’ll keep my faith with the boys who at least show up to mark the penalty box lines. Still, your point stands: when the same hands fumble the district league and the BCCI purse, the numbers don’t lie—it’s time to let the local clubs, the ones who pay their own electricity bills, have a proper say at the table.
