Listening to the chai stall owner proudly show his printed accounts—he now knows exactly what he earns each day, and no middleman can cheat him—I wonder why sports federations can't work like that. A little data, a little transparency, and the smallest athlete gets a fair chance. Instead, we have committees fighting over chairs while the young boy from a tea garden waits for his stipend. Numbers don't lie, babaal, but too many people prefer stories that suit them.

Actually, I love the chai stall example—it's aasaan to see how clear numbers empower the person doing the work. But sports federations are a different beast; they don't just lack data, they actively dodge accountability because the stories that suit them are about power, not production. I've seen the same with our training centre budgets—when the numbers are there, you can fight for every rupee, but the moment someone prefers a 'story', the girl from the slum waits for her stipend too.

Data is a good thing, true—I keep my own little books for the cashew unit, so no middleman can pull a fast one. But sports federations are not chai stalls, mone; the boy from the tea garden knows the price of a raw nut, but his real fight is the politics that decides who gets to count the nuts.
