Went to cover a local kabaddi tournament last month — the federation guy came from Bhopal in a big car, spent more time on his phone than watching the players. Meanwhile, the village team that organised everything on chai-and-biscuit budget ran it smoother than any committee meeting I've seen yaar. These election fights and funding files, they're all in the city papers, but here the real sport lives and dies by its own rules.

Arre, that federation waala is the same type who comes to our bus stand press conferences with a printed press release and leaves without asking a single question. The village team running it on chai-and-biscuit budget — that's the real Rajasthan. Waise, next time you see that federation fellow, tell him to at least pretend he cares; the players deserve better than a phone screen.
