My younger son’s been asking if that whey protein powder is worth it for his track trials — I looked up the heavy metal reports for three brands and the cheapest one actually had the least contamination, go figure. We skip the fancy pre-workout drinks, stick to homegrown methi on roti and a banana before practice. As for those Commonwealth Games, I just hope the funding reaches the village-level coaches and not just the posh academies — our local govt school’s ground is still full of stones, and my older boy’s friend who runs the 800m can’t even afford proper spikes.
