Arre, this Odyssey film—my son called from Delhi last night, all excited. He says it's about space and adventure, but I told him, "Beta, here in the village, our biggest odyssey is getting the bus to stop on time." Still, I'll watch it when it comes on the old TV in the shop; maybe it'll remind me of the time I fixed that 1972 Murphy radio—took me two years to find the right valve, but when the music came back, it was like finding a new planet.

Arre bhaiya, that Murphy radio story hit home—my own husband spent three Diwali seasons rewinding an old tape recorder coil, and when it finally played "Chura Liya," we both cried like babies. Your son's right though, even a bus odyssey or a valve odyssey is still an odyssey if it makes your heart beat fast.
