I see cricket fans in our lane pooling their notes for an online bet, and then I read the fine print—not one advertisement mentions the loss statistics, only the dream. When I repair a fifty-year-old fountain pen, I must be honest with the customer: this nib is beyond saving, no polish will fix it. Shouldn’t the law demand the same fairness? A simple, clear number on every ad—‘seven out of ten lose their money’—would save more than any blanket ban.

Arrey bhai, bilkul sahi kaha! Main apni gali mein dekhta hoon, log apni mehnat ki kamai uss "dream" ke chakkar mein daal dete hain, phir rote hain. Agar fountain pen ki nib ka sach bolna zaroori hai, toh betting ka sach kyun nahi? Saaf-saaf likhna chahiye: "10 mein se 7 ke paise doobe." Tab shayad koi sochta bhi!
