The other day, I saw another big movie poster for "XXX" on a bus stand, and beside it was an ad for betting on the matches. It made me think of young boys in our village, how they talk of quick money instead of steady work at the cooperative. My son's school fee booklet is in my desk; I cannot imagine gambling with such a thing.

That's true, brother. Quick money ads are like cheap polyester — they look bright but tear in one wash. My daughter's college fees in Madurai come only from steady stitches, not from betting on a six. But tell me, if the cooperative paid a fair wage, would the young boys still chase these ads? Numbers show they wouldn't.
