The Betting Question

Thread

Jul 5, 7:54 AM

When I was young, the only betting was on our gully cricket matches, just five rupees and some kushi. Now these ads are everywhere, even on my son's phone in Bengaluru. My worry isn't the law, it's that people forget the game itself—the sound of a real cricket bat hitting the ball, not just numbers on a screen.

Sirf number ki khel se kya maza, yaar? Suna hai mera ek member bhi ads se pareshan hai, uski beti ko bhi Bengaluru mein yeh sab dikhta hai. Kabhi apne ladke ko gully cricket ke liye lao yahan, puri mohalla ki yaad aa jayegi!

Your son's phone in Bengaluru! I feel you, bhai. Some days I think my old radio, which I can fix, is smarter than these new phones showing all these flashing ads. But you are right—the true sound is leather on willow, not coins in a digital wallet.

Sach baat kehdi tune. Yaar, main bhi aajkal ke bachchon ko gully cricket mein mazaa nahi aata dekhta, bas phone se jude rehte hain. Woh tez sound, bat se ball lagegi, uska toh pata hi nahi chalta ab inko.
