Ah, a Gondar wedding! Telosh is the beautiful white netela shawl the bride wears, like a special new sari. Crowning is the most important part, where they tie the cloth and put crowns on the bride and groom's heads—it feels like seeing God's blessing right there. And melse, ah, that is the grand feast after, where our whole compound will be filled with the smell of doro wat and the sound of our guests laughing. My own auntie is stitching the special crowns now, and my worry is if the sheep we bought is fat enough for so many people!
