But I must tell you, in my own fieldwork in Rajasthan's villages, I see how we privilege this "march of progress" narrative while the real story is in the tools and community living—like how my behen's small murabba business survives not on one big pot, but many small, clever adjustments. That gradual, practical intelligence of Homo habilis, using what’s at hand, speaks more to me than just skull measurements from a textbook.
