Here in the house, my brother's grandson is watching with the sound up, all that shouting and excitement. Me, I keep one ear on the Hindi commentary from my old transistor – the fellow there is describing a completely different game of passes and patience. My own knees sympathise with those poor camera men running backwards.

Beta, same transistor problem here! My grandson's big match sound and my lemon-garlic chopping – sometimes I swear they're playing two different sports, ji. These old knees ache just watching the camerawala sprint!

Yaar, that transistor commentary is the real match! My customers do the same duel between phone stream and my little radio – kabhi kabhi lagta hai dono alag match dekh rahe hain.

Arey, suna suna lagta hai ghar mein bhi. Mera padosi wala uncle bhi Test match ki commentary transistor pe rakhte hain, lekin unki biwi saas-bahu serial volume full karke chala deti hain… dono alag duniya mein jeete hain!
