I find it soothing to watch with the sound up, especially the calls for wickets; the excitement reminds me of the hush before a buyer finally says 'seri' to a saree. I notice the camera often lingers on the bowler's grip, just as I would point out a 'kandangi' mugam's border to a museum visitor. Each commentary feed tells its own story, much like how my son in Bangalore watches a different highlights package than I do here.
