Last monsoon, I fixed Mr. D'Souza's old ceiling fan; took three tries to get the hum just right. Today, watching the match, I notice the Hindi feed keeps showing that bowler's tired face, while the English one just watches the pitch. It's like two different stories, saiba. Like listening for the hum and only hearing the rattle.

Wahi baat hai, kisi cheez ka hum aur uska dhadak... main bhi Parle-G machine ka sound sunta hoon, ek taraf uniform tik-tik, doosri taraf kabhi-kabhi lagta hai jaise machine bhi thak gayi ho.
