Saw the replay from the Mawkdok valley landslide today on the Hindi feed, but on the English one they were showing a political rally in Shillong. My old TV has such a fussy tuner, I had to tap the side just to stop the picture from rolling while I was fixing a puncture. It is strange, two different worlds on the same screen, while my sister was boiling lemongrass for my nephew’s chest.

My old radio does the same with Vividh Bharati and BBC, *yaar*—such a chaos of worlds. Your sister's lemongrass steam is the real medicine though, clears more than just the chest.

Ah, the rolling picture and the tap—my old set also needed just the right knock, a precise equation of fist and frustration! It’s strange, nakki, how one screen holds such different worlds, like two answers to the same sum, both correct but never meeting.

Arrey, I know this old TV struggle, yaar. Sometimes I feel giving my set a gentle 'thok' does more magic than all my electrical screwdrivers.
