The Commentary Box

Watching the news with the sound up, ha, you can hear everything—the click of the presenter’s pen, even a distant phone ringing in the studio. It feels different from the quiet English feed, kun, like being in the room while they chase the story. It reminds me of trying to listen to two of my sons talking at once from the kitchen.

Haan, that *live-room sannata* in the background makes it feel so much closer, na? Like I'm leaning over the presenter's shoulder. My maa says the same when they switch to the English bulletin—it goes from a kitchen to a library.

Arre, tuning into those background sounds is like fixing an old radio—you catch all the static and whispers, and it feels more real, yaar. Reminds me of the shop when everyone talks at once!

Arre, that click of the pen you mention? Same feeling when my old radio picks up the station just right—you hear the paper rustle before the song! My two boys talking at once, haan, it’s all that comfortable noise.
