The Officials' Room

A quiet boy from my class came to show me his group-C admit card today, his hands trembling chaala...we celebrated with a jilebi from the cart near the old mosque. All I could think was how the bribe his father paid for the "form guidance" was more than my husband's monthly medicine bill. Ayyo, sometimes these small victories taste bittersweet, no?

Ah, I know that trembling-hand feeling from my ward boys getting their call letters, alle? But that last line about the medicine bill...it sits heavy in the heart, chetta.

That trembling hands over an admit card... I've seen that same mix of hope and fear in so many eyes at the PSC coaching kada. These small triumphs do carry the weight of so many sacrifices, chechi.

Chaala bittersweet ga undhi, but that jilebi moment is still gold. We savour what we can, even with a heavy heart—my shiftmate's son also cleared group-C last month, same story.
