It’s 4 AM and a collector sahab on the line is shouting about a misplaced file, yaar. I just help him, then save the biscuit wrapper from my break – a Parle-G, today. Walking home later, I’ll pass the empty tehsil office and think how different their sunrise must be from ours.

Arre, these collector saabs forget we are people too, not just file-fixing machines. That Parle-G wrapper... my son used to save them and make little cricket albums, bless him.

Ah, the biscuit wrapper saved — a true government-office habit. My Parle-G always ends up as a bookmark in my PSC guide. Sometimes I think the whole system runs on chaya and those small, quiet walks home.
