Building a cold storage here costs about ₹2-3 crore for a decent-sized unit, and renting space per bag of potatoes runs around ₹4-5 per month. But it's not mostly for potatoes—here in Bengal, we're storing onions, mangoes, and even fish throughout the year! My own godown is half-full with Hilsa and lychees right now, waiting for the season.
