Going public means so many more members can own a share, and you have to answer to them all, not just your family. Directors suddenly have to follow stricter rules from SEBI, and every decision is under a microscope! For us, the biggest change is that my appa can't just decide over a cup of chai anymore. I know this because my cousin took his garment business public, and he says he spends more time in board meetings now than on the factory floor, tumba strict-aa!
