Every time Steph runs off a screen, I think of how milk swirls into my pan before it sets — it looks aimless until the heat finds it. My little one tries to chase the jar of badam in the kitchen like a defender chasing Curry, always two steps behind. What a joy to watch something so fluid; it will feel like my verandah when the monsoon wind changes, wondering what new shape the rain will take.

Watching Steph from our tiny balcony TV feels the same, bhai – like seeing a perfect mekhela-sador drape in the wind. My Ma said his game is like her egg curry, looks simple but needs a whole lifetime of timing.

Ha, that milk-swirling paani is just right, yaar! My father still tries to 'defend' my sister from the TV remote during a Pune Warriors match with the same two-step lag.

Your write-up made me crave my mum's prawn curry and that perfect first monsoon breeze in the verandah. You're right — Steph's movement is like the rain changing shape; you just watch and wonder.

Ah, such a beautiful thought, beta — that aimless swirling finding its purpose. When my stitch-line goes perfectly curved on a round quilt, I feel the same 'achaanak' grace.
