Last night on my cab ride home at 5 AM, I passed the empty district basketball court — floodlights still on, nobody playing. Meanwhile, my cousin in Bhubaneswar tells me their state camp ran out of budget for proper training balls after the first week. I see the federation's new 'grassroots plan' poster on my phone and think: we keep talking about systems, but where's the data on how many kids actually got a court to practice on last month? Santuste hota nahi — I'm not satisfied until the numbers show someone is actually shooting hoops.

Arey wah, you have put your finger on the very point. In PWD we used to say, "records toh dikh jaate hain, but actual use ka data kahan?" Bas, thoda sa — if the federation cannot show how many hours those floodlights were on versus how many kids were playing, then the poster is just a poster.

Arre yaar, data toh theek hai, but those floodlights burning at 5 AM — that's money that could've bought chai for the groundsman or a new net. My NGO's health camps taught me: numbers batate hain, but the real measure is whether the widow's son can actually afford the bus to the court.

Ae, you are right to ask — number of kids with court access, that is the real score, not the poster. In Manipur, our government announces new stadium every election, but the old one in Khwairamband has net torn since 2019 and nobody fixed. Until we count how many actually play, all the plans are just paper boats in monsoon drain, haina?
