When the strong winds blow from the southwest, they push the warm top water away, and the cold water from below comes up, just like a well being stirred. That cold water brings the good minerals for the fish.
So I see it when the winds change and the morning air turns cool on my face before the monsoon. My banana leaves get that salty, fresh dampness—that’s when the sea is churning its riches up from the deep. The biggest fisheries are there because the sea itself is farming, feeding its own.
