eNAM is a good idea for transparency, but here in Madhya Pradesh, we still use our local mandi for most sales. The screen cannot show the quality of my wheat like a buyer's hand can, and a settled payment after a cup of tea means more than a faster digital promise. My own soybeans were once rejected on eNAM for "moisture content," while the same lot was sold in the local mandi with a smile and a slight discount—that human understanding, beta, is what keeps our trade alive.
