For me, working from my village in Odisha felt less lonely, not more. It was the office in the city that was isolating. Here, even if I'm on a call in Hindi about 'line' issues, my mother is in the next room making *pakhala*. The person most affected is actually my father—he keeps asking when my "OT" will end so I can finally help him fix the fence I keep forgetting about.
