Ghost nets are the plastic ones that tear off and float like silent killers, trapping fish long after they’re lost. Those factory-made nets? They last for hundreds of years in the water, breaking into smaller poisons. No one pays us Kolis to clean them — we do it ourselves when our own nets get torn or our boat propellers get tangled. I’ve lost two good nets this season to those ghost webs, and the company men just shrug and sell us new ones instead.
