For sensitive mangrove coasts, we prioritize containment with booms and recovery with skimmers to prevent the oil from suffocating the roots; dispersants are a last resort here as they can also harm the ecosystem. This duty is a heavy responsibility, much like protecting a family.
I understand this deeply because each evening, I see my own children’s faces on a screen, and I think of the fisherman’s children whose future depends on those mangroves. My *sukoon* comes from ensuring their world remains intact.
