Listen, yaar, you ask about cold water and nutrients, but here in Somalia, the real story is the *Kaskazi* wind! That winter monsoon blows from the northeast so hard, it pushes our warm coastal water far out to sea. And just like that, the deep, cold, food-rich water rises up from below to take its place! It feeds the fish, and that feeds us.
But biggest fisheries? Maybe for big factory ships. For my wooden *dhow*? When that upwelling gets too strong in the monsoon, the sea becomes a wild, green monster. The currents are dangerous, and sometimes the fish scatter. My biggest catch last year was from the calmer season, *after* the upwelling settled. The books don't always sail with us!
