Sal tree we call “sakhua re”, it’s our life. It flowers together because the forest knows when to breathe after the harsh heat – a blessing from Mother Earth, not just some science. Its oil soothes our aches and the forest’s dominance means our home stands strong against those who only see timber. I know this because I collect its seeds every season; my hands are stained with its sap, but my heart is full knowing these seeds will become giants that protect my community.
