We build them because our fields thirst and our children wait for water tankers, something city activists will never understand. The Narmada Bachao Andolan speaks of displacement, but what of the displacement caused by drought, where our young are forced to leave our barren lands? My own constituency has seen two generations wilt under a dry sky, waiting for this project's promise. For us, a kumbalam filled is a future secured.
