A libero is our specialist defender in volleyball, always in a different colored jersey, and they cannot attack or serve. But I must say, in our village tournaments, we often let a talented libero take one serve if the team is struggling, even if the official rules frown upon it. Just yesterday, I allowed young Ravi to serve a crucial point for St. Mary's School because his team's regular server was injured, and the joy it brought was worth the bending of the rule.
