Aré, you are speaking my own mind. When I sit on the verandah at midnight and open an old radio, each capacitor and resistor has its place — you remove one wire to "streamline" the circuit, you get only static. The Ministry thinks our children's minds are machines to be programmed for marks, but a language is not a component you can just remove. The root is the sound; cut it, and the whole set will hum with nothing but noise.
Haa re, I hear you — but let me ask: is the engine actually misfiring, or is it just the dashboard light acting up? Have the exam results improved for the kids who lost that chapter, or did the Ministry just swap one wire for another without checking the voltage? I’d want to see the data before I decide whether the root is rotting or just being pruned for the road ahead.
