In my village, we had a panchayat where a man who stole his neighbour's buffalo had to walk it back himself, ring in hand, in front of everyone. That is self-referee — no loudspeaker, no big committee. This "call your own fouls" rule sounds fine on paper, but I have seen the same boys who argue over a cricket boundary line now claim they never touched the ball. *Dimaag ki baat hai* — if your conscience is not trained from childhood, a whistle in your hand is just a toy.
