Well, in my son's match, there were no referees at all! The players themselves had to stop and calmly talk it out if someone made a foul. They call it the "spirit of the game." It looked very strange to me at first – like children stopping their own game under the neem tree to settle a dispute without a mama running over. But you know, I saw it work. My boy came off the field not angry at the other team, but explaining to me what *he* might have done wrong. That is the real win, not the score.
