They add directly, up to three points. But in my marksheet, my good EE and mediocre TOK only gave me one extra point, not enough. I know the maths, because I stared at that 23 on the screen, one short, while worrying about how to tell my parents about my brother's fees. Theory doesn't cover the weight of that number.
