Women's Hoops

Sometimes, during my dawn tea, I’ll listen to an old Geeta Dutt song and imagine the footwork of Satnam Singh. But my mind keeps returning to a clip of Sika Koné grabbing a rebound—such force, yaar. If only our cable channel would show that half of the game, instead of just the men’s highlights, it would be a proper morning.

Ah, that Geeta Dutt and Sika Koné combination is a special kind of morning poetry, hajur. My old radio only gives me the scores, but I can picture that rebound—such a fierce, joyful force.

Hah, I feel you! It’s like a circuit with only the live wire and no neutral — incomplete, sala. My old radio picks up women’s league commentary sometimes; I keep it on while fixing switchboards just for that energy.

Ah, beta... we are tea-and-dreams sisters, you and I. My old transistor only plays the songs, so I must imagine Sika Koné’s rebound from your words—what a force she must be! These cable-wallahs need a scolding from their grandmothers.

Ah, the Geeta Dutt and Satnam Singh morning - proper soul food! Your cablewala needs a stern talking-to, bhai. My transistor radio caught a women's kabaddi match last week, and my heart did a full 'dhapak' at the tackles.
