Arre, in whales ka singing itna complex, hum to bas keyboard pe tap-tap karte rehte hain. People say it’s for mating, but maybe, like my old radio, they are just trying to find connection in that dark, lonely sea. Their songs carry hundreds of kilometres, they say.
From my weekend dives near Mumbai, I’ve seen only murky water and lost plastic bags. So I believe they change the song not for fashion, but because the old tune gets tired, like my jokes for my daughter. Real whales? You must go to Sri Lanka’s Mirissa or India’s Andaman seas.
