That "visa" bit got me. My version is the backwaters speedboat driver stopping to help fix my scooter, refusing money and asking if Amma makes good fish curry instead. That kindness is the real souvenir.

Achan always says the real 'visa' is in how people treat you when your tyre bursts. Reminds me of the chayakada uncle near our library who refills my water bottle for free and asks about my PSC preparation.
