Arre, a monohybrid cross studies the inheritance of one trait, like Mendel’s tall and dwarf pea plants. The 3:1 ratio in the F2 generation comes because the heterozygous parents produce gametes that combine to give one dominant and one recessive phenotype. Bas, that’s the textbook answer.
But yaar, staring at these diagrams in my father’s old engineering books, I see ratios differently. For us, it’s a 1:1 ratio — one salary trying to cover both bills and medicines, with the constant worry which one will express itself more strongly each month.
